It supports most, but not all, of the Apple gestures - so it does right-click, rotate, scroll, etc. It's a graphics tablet, which you can use either its own pen (no batteries or wires - just induction or magic), or as a touchpad with your finger. Seems to me that would something they should have included.Īnyway, if you have an Apple laptop, Magic Mouse (yes it works for it too!), or a Magic Trackpad, try out Better Touch Tool.

I have an HP Touchsmart desktop computer and it doesn't have it for the screen either. I don't know why touch sensitivity is left out of so many touch things. Tons of settings can be made, including the sensitivity.

This is a free tool for the mouse and trackpad, including the Magic Trackpad. The problem I had with that is that it is too darned sensitive and no way to adjust the sensitivity. By default, it requires a pretty good push to get it to 'click', but in System Preferences you can turn on 'tap to click'. I just got a Magic Trackpad the other day and I have to say I really like it. In all that equates to less repetitive motion and more efficient workflow. On top of that add Quickeys and I never reach for a menu in Finale. That's 15 gestures without moving my hand from the mouse. Left side buttons - Button 1: change to speed entry button 2 change to selection tool Side Wheel button (pressed, not pushed fwd or back) - calls up the tool palet Side to side on top button - page left and right Side Wheel (one click in each direction pushed fwd or back) zooms in and out. Also works in popup menus and selection lists! Never use Logitech's control panel - it is a total waste of time. I use the MX Revolution (Logitech) with Steer Mouse (shareware).

I find a good multi-button mouse running great software a much faster way to work, especially in Finale and Digital Performer. Navigating page to page was great (swiping) and having a flat hand position was nice.

Contrary to the name, it is a full featured trackpad and pen tablet and much larger than the Apple thing. Not the Apple trackpad, but I did buy the Wacom Bamboo Fun last week. To me, it's an improvement over the mouse. I'm very happy with it and I find it a little bit quicker and slightly less straining on the hand.īut it takes a little bit of getting used to.Ī little trouble with right clicks (I prefer to actually click rather than tap because I find it too sensitive) I have been using the magic trackpad for over one week now. Using this in conjunction with QuicKeys is a great way of working in Finale. But it is so user-configurable that I'm sure it can be set up to do that. I haven't yet tried it in page view to see if I can get to other pages just as easily. In scroll view you can swipe left and right and the score moves correspondingly. Tapping once to click, option-tapping to open contextual menus all work well. It is a work- and time-saver but it is awfully sensitive because I have it set to be that way. I am currently using the magic trackpad with F2K10 and F2K11, and I'm happy to report that it works fine for every gesture in Finale. They provide extra information.MakeMusic Forum > Public Forums > Finale - Macintosh - FORUM HAS MOVED! > Did someone try the Magic Trackpad yet with Finale?ĭoes it make sense for programmes with precision mousing, or is it just one of those gadgets? The are adjuncts (or 'adverbials') which explain why I stopped doing whatever I was doing. These infinitives are not complements of the verb stop. In the Original Poster's example sentences, we don't know what I was doing, but we know why I stopped doing it: I'm flying to Paris to visit my sister. We use infinitives of purpose to explain why someone does, did, or is going to do something: The second parts of these sentences use infinitives of purpose. The I stopped part of the sentence is the same as just saying: Because the verb stopped doesn't have a complement, we don't know what activity was happening. The second sentence in each of the Original Poster's examples uses the verb stop without a complement. In these cases, the verb stop is taking another verb as its complement. The first sentences here, I think, are meant to be in the past simple, not the present:Īll these sentences mean that I was doing some activity, working, watching or cooking at some point in the past, and then I finished doing it.
